The Bible - the best argument for being an atheist!

In reality, my headline is wrong - mostly because one can believe in the god of the Bible without worshiping it. One can believe that it's true, without considering that it's worthy of worship. The "holy book" is rather the best argument for not worshiping the god that's portrayed in it. Yes, I know what you are thinking - I must be crazy. But I'm not - this is what Richard Dawkins has to say about "him":

"The God of the Old Testament is arguably the most unpleasant character in all fiction: jealous and proud of it; a petty, unjust, unforgiving control-freak; a vindictive, bloodthirsty ethnic cleanser; a misogynistic, homophobic, racist, infanticidal, genocidal, filicidal, pestilential, megalomaniacal, sadomasochistic, capriciously malevolent bully."

I must say, I agree wholeheartedly. How can believers fail to realize this? Have they not read their own holy book? Do they simply listen to what their preacher tell them? Let's, for the sake of argument, agree that the Bible is correct and speak the truth - now what?! Do we worship this god all of a sudden? The gods existence simply isn't enough for us to worship it, mostly because this god is all of the above and more. He is a complete psychopath! Let's use the Bible, the word of God to prove this.

Jealous and proud of it? Hell yes!
"Do not have any other gods before me." This quote from the decalogue should be know to all believers. He simply don't want any competition, he implies that there are other gods and that he wont accept being second best. Burning in hell, for ever - is the punishment. Good job on being just, caring and forgiving. I call bullshit!

a petty, unjust, unforgiving control-freak?
I would certainly say so! Not only does he try to control who you sleep with, what you eat, which types of clothes you wear, what material you make clothes of, whom you enslave and how much you beat them ... He also sticks his nose in how much you pay for your slaves, how you cook your meals, which types of ingredients you mix and when you rest. The punishment? Everything from stoning, hanging, beating and burning in hell for all eternity. Oh, don't forget, he is so forgiving that he'll burn you in hell if you disappoint him. Infinite punishment for a finite crime, is that supposed to be just and forgiving? I certainly wouldn't say so. Turn the other cheek certainly doesn't apply to him ...

a vindictive, bloodthirsty ethnic cleanser?
This simply can't be true?! God is all loving, caring and forgiving - right? WRONG! Well, he did send a pack of rabid beers to kill some kids for calling a bald man, bald ... Oh yes, it's true, rest assured - links will be provided for every claim. I think that covers both vindictive and bloodthirsty. Ethnic cleanser? Compared to God, Hitler is a saint - the difference? Believers actually praise God, but sane people condemn the acts of the Nazis and similar tragedies in Russia/Soviet. Just check what God did to the people of Baal of Peor. Not to forget, that he killed all humans on earth, except Noa and his family. Only to try to cover up his own mistakes.

misogynistic and homophobic? [sic]
Very much so, forcing women to marry their rapist or killing women who have been raped. Not what I would define as justice, and very much so proves the hate God has for women, who are his own creation. Everyone knows that he calls for the stoning of gay men, he doesn't mention gay women. Maybe he likes some lesbian action? But stoning women who have been raped? Come on, you cannot say it's justice, forgiving or any of the positive attributes many people contribute to God. I can't understand how Christians dare to question my moral - when this crap is what their holy book and God is representing.

racist, genocidal
The jews are obviously his people and more worth than everyone else. He also advocates killing whole cities except the young virgins who are supposed to be captured. I wonder why ...

sadomasochistic
He is said to have sacrificed himself, to himself, to satisfy his own need for blood - inorder to be able to forgive the humans he created. He allegedly created us in his own image, he also is supposed to be all knowing - so he also knew that we would sin. The only rational conclution is that he wanted to be beaten and nailed to a cross, since he knew that would be the result of his own coming.
pestilential
He does have a tendency to invoke plagues to kill of the humans he doesn't like.

filicidal
He killed his own son, who really was himself, to satisfy himself. I know, its irrational and confusing. It actaully doesn't make any sense at all! Jesus is said to be his son, and since God is all knowing and omnipotent, and he knew the humans would kill his son, who actually was himself - and still sent Jesus to earth he is directly responsible for his death.

I honestly think this will have to do. My point is, this guy is a bastard! If he were human, he would most likely be put behind bars or even put to death in some countries. And this is the guy the christian community say are worthy of worship? I'm happy to say, I neither belive in him or think he is worthy of worship. I'm proud to be an atheist...

Nice work! It is sad that so many people don't see the god in the Bible (The Old Testament in this case) as the monster he is, but instead worship him and call him a good, just and loving good.
